Not a blog more like another pier banyan tree, a place to come & sit for a little while & wait for something fun to happen. A place for all the greezers, candyasses, Halloween egg throwers, former Publix bagboys & dirt bike riders to kill a little time until Halloween. Just like the good old days, wait around for a couple hours until you could find some geezer to buy you beer...

The Loach house was out near the tail end of Snook Drive, on the right side of Royal Harbor (2nd street from right; looks kind of like a Z from ZZ Top).
ReplyDeletePoppa Loach (Bill) was a realtor, and he chose a lot on the east side of the street with a back yard view that looked directly at the mangroves. At the time I thought it was kind of silly, building a house with a view of the mangroves.
If you look at an aerial shot of it today, almost everyone out there is looking at the back of their neighbors house, while the house he built "way back then", enjoys the sunrise, and an open non-traffic waterway with a mangrove backdrop that still shelters native birds.
Way to go Bill.
