Not a blog more like another pier banyan tree, a place to come & sit for a little while & wait for something fun to happen. A place for all the greezers, candyasses, Halloween egg throwers, former Publix bagboys & dirt bike riders to kill a little time until Halloween. Just like the good old days, wait around for a couple hours until you could find some geezer to buy you beer...
Great photo. Thanks for posting. Mary
ReplyDeleteMulti-story building on the right started as the Mercantile Building (1919?) with Western-Union telegraph office upstairs. I recall it in 1958 as "The Seminole Market" with a creaky screen door that would slam behind you. The Fleischmann’s bought the building and turned it into “Antique Addict” which then became the anchor building for what is today known as Swan Court. I believe it currently houses a restaurant.

Seminole was the only game in town; we went to Ft. Myers for groceries. I remember "Wind in the Willows?" Medical center across the street?
