I've been holding onto this until now, today is Leonard's 70th birthday & this is his birthday present (he didn't even have a copy until now). You should know who Leonard # 1 is, # 2 is Bill Sanderson better known to many as Larry from the Newhart Show. Where's his brother Daryl & his other brother Daryl when you need them? And # 3 is Leonard his BAD self! This is the coolest piece of Collierbilia I've come across so far it just doesn't get much better than this!
Thanks to GC Homeboy & his LW & DWS for tech assistance.
If video disappears you can view it at the Real Naples Channel too!

Not a blog more like another pier banyan tree, a place to come & sit for a little while & wait for something fun to happen. A place for all the greezers, candyasses, Halloween egg throwers, former Publix bagboys & dirt bike riders to kill a little time until Halloween. Just like the good old days, wait around for a couple hours until you could find some geezer to buy you beer...
Oh my God! This is truly amazing! Mr. Chesser is going to love this. I hope a million people view this, it has to be seen!
ReplyDelete“Quicksand?” “Could be but I ain’t never seen none!” Damn straight, Leonard!

Shut the Front Door!!! That is the best, you've outdone yourself! The 70's era buggy racing is my favorite, not sure I'd like it as much today.

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday ! I think I saw the original show. Doug Hendry was our neighbor and good family friend. I am also a friend of Lizette and Connie. I miss the swamp buggy races since I moved to GA. 20 years ago. Those were the days!

ReplyDeleteGreat video. Happy Birthday to Mr.Chesser. I bet there were a few laughs and hoots from Leonard and Doug when Bill Sanderson showed up on The Newhart Show.
ReplyDeleteOMG I love it! I watched that show as a child but never knew Leonard was on it. Happy Birthday Leonard. Swamp Buggy Racing is the oldest and most unique tradition in all of Collier County, perhaps the world. Naples, pay aattention, we are part of your world, it would be nice if you embraced the tradition.
