Not a blog more like another pier banyan tree, a place to come & sit for a little while & wait for something fun to happen. A place for all the greezers, candyasses, Halloween egg throwers, former Publix bagboys & dirt bike riders to kill a little time until Halloween. Just like the good old days, wait around for a couple hours until you could find some geezer to buy you beer...

Bindle Stiff Bartenders
This was taken reasonably early on a Sunday morning in the mid 70's, in front of Wally Green's house. We were undoubtedly planning the course for the day. "Waddayawanna do?" "I don't know Whadda you wannado?" "I guess we could have a beer and think about it . . . ."
Seagate Homeboy and Neill Davis (R.I.P.), the hood ornament is my dog "Boo".

Hey, Mister Seagate Homeboy, you got any interior photos of the Bindlestiff?
ReplyDeleteIf I hadn't lost my virginity on the broken statues of Greek gods behind the Ringling Art Museum in Sarasota, it would have been in the Buick LeSabre in the Bindlestiff parking lot a couple nights later.
I met Neil in the early/mid 80's. We framed houses together. He was a very cool guy. I never knew he passed away. I'm sorry to hear that.
ReplyDeleteRIP Neil.
Good to see you again Ironside.
ReplyDeleteBe sure to read my earlier Bindle Stiff comments.
Note to anonymous:
Unfortunately the only pictures I have of the interior of the Bindle Stiff are those etched on the inside of my eyelids, and accessed only by the feeble remnants of a brain that was in the "spin cycle" for many years.
Say, was the Buick the bronze one with the dark tan vinyl roof, or the white one with the black vinyl (no wait, that one was a 225).
Congratulations on your "deflowering".
