Not a blog more like another pier banyan tree, a place to come & sit for a little while & wait for something fun to happen. A place for all the greezers, candyasses, Halloween egg throwers, former Publix bagboys & dirt bike riders to kill a little time until Halloween. Just like the good old days, wait around for a couple hours until you could find some geezer to buy you beer...

Man, what a huge weekend it was if you were lucky enough to go "Downtown". Save your pennies and find something at the 5&10, maybe fries and a cherry coke at Rexalls, end up looking at comics at the Book Nook, those were the days....
ReplyDeleteWhit @ work
The cherry cokes at the Rexalls counter were one of the most refreshing drinks ever poured. They had the perfect ratio of coke syrup, seltzer, and cherry juice, and chilled with those tiny squares of ice. I used to drink one before PAL football practice at the Gulfview field -because Coach Barry Key didn't allow but a few sips of water during practices.
ReplyDeleteNow Whit... Just the comics at Book Nook? I realize Brookside Homeboy in the interest of a cleaner, more sanitized historical Naples, is quietly expurgating all references to the Porn Room, but didn't you ever sneak a peak beyond the curtain?
