Not a blog more like another pier banyan tree, a place to come & sit for a little while & wait for something fun to happen. A place for all the greezers, candyasses, Halloween egg throwers, former Publix bagboys & dirt bike riders to kill a little time until Halloween. Just like the good old days, wait around for a couple hours until you could find some geezer to buy you beer...

I remember going on a science class field-trip from East Naples Middle School in 1969 (6th grade) to the north shore of Doctors Pass. We were finding stuff to study and being hooligans,(East Naples greezers) as Brookside Homeboy says.
ReplyDeleteLinda Evans was snorkeling and bagging Sand Dollars, than bringing them to shore, when a gentleman asked how many she had. I believe she replied, 117. The man offered her $1.00ea for them and she gladly accepted. Needless to say we all started swimming to the sand bar heading for possible pay-dirt...Eureka!!!
I think I was one of 20 or 30 boys that was sucking up to the new rich girl.

You see all the homes with swimming pools?
Well, I worked for Tri-City-Pool Service for 3 years 1970/1972 and many of those pools were on my route.
“DAT-SUN-OF-A-GUN” was lettered on the tailgate of my Datsun pickup courtesy of my boss.
I had 86 pools to maintain weekly, and they ranged out into North Moorings and Park Shore when Park Shore was nothing but seawalls and sand.
There was "zero" foliage out on those Park Shore lots and when the wind blew my pools would get trashed.... Rest assured, when I got done they "sparkled".
Also, you see the condo closest to the original Moorings Bridge?
After my father passed away, my mom sold the “Old Homestead” in Seagate, and in 1968 bought a condo unit at “Kingsport Club”. She was the third person to purchase there, and while it was quite nice, it was far too confining for an 18 year old kid.
That’s why I was always seen out “cruising” in that ol’ Barracuda. Wait a second, I wasn’t always cruising... After 2 years at “Edison”, I spent far more time working than anything else; well, except maybe "cruising".
